On the North Shore of Long Island, tucked away from the busy beaches and malls, and wannabe Kardashians, sits this dreamy sanctuary. The property is full of greenhouses, gardens and one of the original Long Island mansions, that easily puts any modern Long Island mansion to shame. The property is now a State Park and the house is open for viewing. I would live here. Yup. It's pretty spectacular. And if you like flowers.....lots of flowers. Flowers for days. Since moving here in the early spring we've made two visits, and I'm ready for another. These are just a few of my photos from the Coe house, gardens, and greenhouse....

Being unable to make up my mind about things most of the time, I wasn't sure if I should get the Sweet35 optic, or the Edge80 optic......so I got the kit with both. I immediately took her out shooting around Madison.....first to Olbrich Botanical Gardens, then to the Dane County Farmers' Market, and around the neighborhood. What I'm really dying to do is take some portraits (other than my cat) and shoot some Autumn leaves. Sadly, the LCD on my camera broke, so I'll have to wait until it's back from being repaired. ::sigh::
Living in Michigan for nearly 30 years, you would think that I'd make it to the Northern coast of the state to see one of the most beautiful places in the world. Well, good things come to those who wait. We had a lovely, and tourist-free weekend at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in September, and I can't wait to go back! Here is the first set of photos....
I have only lived in Madison, Wisconsin for about a year, but I have already been very fortunate to have my photography featured at local art gallery Hatch Art House. Along with it, I've received many encouraging words from two local publications, Madison Magazine and Brava Magazine. Madison Magazine has recently featured my work multiple times. If you'd like to read what Madison Magazine's managing editor Katie Vaughn has to say, you can follow this link: http://www.madisonmagazine.com/Blogs/Artscape/August-2013/Forgotten-Beauty/
And if you live in the Madison area, please stop by Hatch Art House on Willy Street and browse all of the wonderful, local goods! Ten days ago I set out on another research road trip to California, with Shawn. Here are some images from the first week....
